Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) is a high-end off-road NEV brand from BYD positioned between Denza and YangWang domestically. Its model line currently comprises a single model called Bao 5 / Leopard 5 (see specs). Soon, the brandβs line will add up two more SUVs: Bao 8 and Bao 3. The battery and range specs of the latter car were revealed by the Chinese regulator. The Bao 3 can enter Europe under the Denza brand.
Fang Cheng Bao Bao 3 battery and range
The FCB Bao 3 has a single battery option. It is a 78.72 kWh lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) Blade battery from BYD subsidiary FinDreams. The chemistry of this pack makes it heavy at 560 kg. For comparison, Nioβs semi-solid state battery pack weighs only 15 kg more. Β Bearing in mind the curb weight of the FCB Bao 3 off-roader reaches 2150 kg, the battery pack takes up 25% of the car weight.
The Fang Cheng Bao Bao 3 can run up to 510 km of CLTC range on a full charge. We will remind you that its powertrain comprises two e-motors for 110 kW (148 hp) and 220 kW (295 hp), respectively. The combined power of this small beast reaches 330 kW (442 hp). The Bao 3 speeds from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
