2,000 km range and 3.4L/100 km fuel efficiency

BYD introduced two new vehicles tonight: the Seal 07 DM-i and the 2025 Seal EV. The Seal 07 DM-i is a new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) featuring its fifth-generation DM technology. Priced between 139,800 and 195,800 yuan (19,500 to 27,300 USD), it will replace the existing Seal DM-i, clearing up confusion over its identity.

The Seal 07 DM-i’s standout feature is its advanced powertrain technology. It offers two options: a 1.5-liter engine producing 74 kW paired with a 160 kW electric motor for lighter versions and a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine delivering 115 kW alongside a 200 kW electric motor for heavier models. These powertrains provide impressive pure electric ranges of 70 km and 125 km under the CLTC cycle, with a combined range of 2,000 km. BYD claims it has a fuel consumption of 3.4l /100 km. All models are equipped with BYD’s blade battery using lithium iron phosphate chemistry, a testament to the vehicle’s cutting-edge technology.

The refreshed model has horizontal grille lines for a fresh look. The Seal 07 DM-i retains the dimensions of its predecessor, measuring 4980mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1495mm in height, with a 2900mm wheelbase.

The interior of the Seal 07 DM-i is designed with a “Flowing Grey” theme, accentuated by aluminum trim. Depending on the variant, the vehicle has an 8.8-inch or 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch or 15.6-inch central touchscreen powered by the latest DiLink system. This system enhances the interface’s responsiveness and expands its functionality.

Additional interior features include:
