Nio Onvo shares first official L60 interior image

The first mass-produced Onvo L60 has officially rolled off the production line. Alongside this announcement, the company also released a slew of official interior images of the new model. Deliveries are expected to begin in late September.

The Onvo L60 is positioned as a mid-sized all-electric SUV, supporting both fast and slow charging as well as battery swapping, directly competing with the Tesla Model Y. The starting price is set at 219,900 RMB, with deliveries expected to begin in late September.

Onvo L60 interior

The interior design of the Onvo L60 is like that of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, featuring a dashboard-less design without any physical buttons. The central console is equipped with a 17.3-inch 3K display. There also appears to be a small display on top of the steering wheel, presumably used as a speedometer.

Nio has confirmed features such as a 13-inch HUD in front of the driver, Nio’s SkyOS operating system, and connectivity with devices such as a Nintendo Switch. The Onvo L60 also offers Nio developed comfort seats, with the front seat-backs capable of fully reclining. Additionally the rear seats are equipped with an 8-inch entertainment control screen.

Onvo dubs the interior cabin as the β€œUrban Oasis”. The interior is equipped with 16 million color ambient lighting, 1000W sounds system developed by Onvo called β€œOnvo Sound”, and 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos surround sound.

Onvo L60 design

The exterior has been revealed for some time and follows a common design language of electric SUVs with a coupe-like body shape and hidden door handles. The car features a hatchback-style tailgate and slight β€œduck-tail” spoiler. The Onvo L60 measures 4828/1930/1616 mm, with a wheelbase of 2950 mm.

The car is built on a 900V platform architecture and is currently only registered with a 60.6 kWh battery pack, according to the MIIT. The single-motor version is equipped with a 240 kW motor offering a CLTC range of 555 to 525km. The 4WD variant has a 100 kW e-motor in the front axle, and a 240 kW one in the rear, offering CLTC range of 525 to 501 km.

The Onvo L60 will have Nio’s vision-based assisted solution, NOA pilot assistance, equipped. The vehicle has 30 assisted driving hardware components, including 4d imaging radar, seven 8-megapixel cameras, four surround-view cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars. The 4D radar and 8-megapixel cameras have forward detection ranges of up to 370 meters and 687 meters respectively.

Onvo plans to open 200 stores across China by the end of the year. The vehicle is expected to fully integrate with Nio’s service network including 3.0 and 4.0 battery swapping stations. The Onvo L60’s price range and features compete directly with the Tesla Model Y and XPeng G6. The Tesla Model Y remains dominate in sales selling 36,299 in July. With deliveries of the Onvo L60 imminent, we will see how consumers respond to this new offering.
