Huawei brand Aito launches five-seater version of the M9 SUV

Aito, on September 10, launched the five-seater version of the M9. There are three versions of the 5 seater and consist of both an Β EREV and BEV priced 469,800-569,800 yuan (66,000 – 80,050 USD. The versions are as follows:

Max EREV 469,800 yuan (66,000 USD)
Ultra EREV 529,800 yuan (74,450 USD)
Ultra EV 569,800 (80,050 USD)

Highlights of the new car include Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0 system and the Harmony OS 4-powered intelligent cockpit. There are two new interior colors for the car along with a β€œPhoenix Dance Nine Days” welcome animation.

Externally, the 5-seat Aito M9 follows the design of the original six-seat car. The car comes with an intelligent lighting system, which consists of adaptive matrix headlights, intelligent projection headlights, adaptive low beams, skyline position lights, and intelligent interactive matrix headlights. It features Huawei X Pixel Smart projection headlights with functions such as β€œPhoenix Dance Nine Days” intelligent welcome animation, VPD parking light language, and ultra-near-field projection. Exterior dimensions (see specs) remain unchanged at 5230, 1999, and 1800 (l/w/h) utilizing a 3110 wheelbase.

Differences are largely confined to the interior where the car loses the third row. Buyers can choose from five internal colors, with the two newly added schemes being Amber Brown and Truffle Brown, joining the existing Moon Shadow Gray and Red Tea Orange, and optional Wangshu Apricot. The car comes with Nappa leather upholstery and suede headlining along with a crystal knob gear lever.

Like the 6-seater version of the car, it comes with a three-screen layout, which consists of a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, and a 16-inch passenger entertainment screen. Through the Harmony OS, there is a multi-screen linkage that can support three fingers to four or five screens, allowing the user to freely switch audio and video content between different screens located in the car. In addition, the car has an 8-liter heated and cooled storage box.

The car comes with Shuyun seats, and the second-row seats can recline up to a maximum of 43Β°, while the leg rest can be adjusted by up to 75Β°.Β A 255 mm armrest folds down effectively converting the car from a five-seater to a four-seater. The front seats can also fold down, further opening up space in the car.

Trunk floor space is 1167 by 1237 mm giving a storage capacity of 637 liters. The trunk floor has rails that allow various usage functions including a pair of chairs with a dividing table. Other options include loading trays and storage boxes. With the second-row seats folded down storage capacity is boosted to 1105 liters

The powertrain remains unchanged from the six-seater. This means the EREV version uses a 1.5 turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 112 kW with power to the wheels coming from a 165 kW electric mode on the front axle and a 200 kW motor on the rear. In the case of the all-electric version, the car uses a 160 kW motor on the front axle and a 230 kW motor on the rear.

Battery capacity for the EREV is 42 kWh, while for the all-electric version, It is 100 kWh. These capacities are exactly the same as in the six-seater version and mean that the EREV version has an all-electric range of 175 km while the BEV can manage up to 630 km.

The car comes equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0 system. Not only does the system consist of AEB for safety, but it also allows the car a high degree of smart driving ability.
