Luxeed R7 opens pre-order starting at 37,600 USD

On September 10, at Huawei’s Extraordinary Brand Festival, the Luxeed R7 jointly designed and built by Huawei and Chery was opened for pre-order, available in three trims. During this period, customers who paid the refundable 2,000 yuan (281 USD) deposit can enjoy a 5,000 yuan (702 USD) deduction from the final purchase price.

The Luxeed R7 is positioned as a pure electric coupe SUV. It is Luxeed’s second model after the S7 (see specs here) and also HIMA’s (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) first coupe SUV, measuring 4956/1981/1634 mm with a 2950 mm wheelbase.

For the exterior, the Luxeed R7 follows the One-Box design concept, paired with a 192-line lidar on the roof. The Luxeed R7 runs on either 20-inch double five-spoke or 21-inch double ten-spoke rims.

There are six exterior paints to choose from, namely Phantom Purple, Sunlight Blue, Ceramic White, Deep Space Gray, Gilded Black, and Metropolitan Red.

In terms of power, the Luxeed R7 offers single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD. The maximum power of the single-motor version is 215 kW (288 hp), and the maximum power of the dual-motor version is 365 kW (489 hp), according to the declaration information by the Chinese MIIT. Additionally, the Luxeed R7 comes standard with an 800 V high-voltage platform, in which charging for 15 minutes can replenish the range by 400 km, according to Chinese media XChuXing.

It is worth pointing out that the pre-order website listed the 82 kWh battery pack as a standard configuration and the 100 kWh battery pack as an optional configuration. At this time, the detailed powertrain parameters still need to be confirmed officially by the brand.

Inside, the cockpit is minimalistic and is powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4, featuring a 12.3-inch instrument panel, an oval steering wheel, a floating central control screen, a Schroeder diffuser acoustic unit behind the central control screen, as well as wireless charging panels and cupholders on the center console.

In addition, the back of the front seat supports the Huawei MagLink Magic Car Interface. A panoramic sunroof and an onboard refrigeration unit are also present.

Furthermore, the seats support 18-way electric adjustment and 10-point massage, while the co-pilot seat is zero-gravity quality. The standard trunk volume is 837 L, and the volume can be expanded to 2130 L after the second row is folded down.
