Zeekr 7X enters production, prepares for September 20 launch

Zeekr has announced that the first batch of Zeekr 7X (see specs) electric crossovers has rolled off the production line. The launch event is scheduled for September 20, 2024, and the expected starting price is 239,900 yuan (around 33,800 USD).

Pre-orders for the Zeekr 7X opened on August 30, 2024, and over 20,000 orders were placed in the first week. The midsize electric SUV measures 4,825 mm long and 1,930 mm wide, with a 2,925 mm wheelbase. Built on Geely’s SEA platform, the 7X comes with an 800V high-voltage system. It offers two battery options: a 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a 605 km range and a 100 kWh Qilin battery from CATL, providing a range of up to 780 km (according to CLTC standards).

The 7X is available in both single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor version generates 310 kW, while the dual-motor version offers a combined 475 kW, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Both versions support fast charging, which can go from 10% to 80% in approximately 10.5 minutes.

The interior includes a 16-inch 3.5K Mini LED touchscreen, a 13-inch OLED rear passenger screen, and a 6-inch rear armrest touch screen. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip powers the vehicle’s infotainment system. The cabin features NAPPA leather seating, a physical sunshade, and a panoramic roof with an electric sunblind. Some models also include heated and ventilated rear seats and folding tray tables.

Deliveries of the 7X in China are expected to begin by the end of September, with international deliveries planned for 2025. The 7X is positioned to compete with electric SUVs like the Tesla Model Y and Xpeng G6 (see specs), with the top trim expected to cost under 300,000 yuan (around $42,300 USD). Further details on pricing and availability will be provided at the launch event on September 20. Stay tuned for updates.
