Changan Nevo E07 transformer SUV started pre-sale at 35,400 USD

On September 22, Changan officially opened its Nevo E07 SUV for pre-sale. Built based on Changan’s SDA architecture, the Nevo 07 can transform between SUV and pickup truck modes, available in EV and EREV variants. Qiyuan is the equivalent Nevo brand name in China.

The Nevo E07 is officially positioned as a medium-to-large high-end smart electric SUV, focusing on digital and intelligent features. The car is scheduled to start mass production in October and will be launched and delivered no later than the fourth quarter.

In terms of body size, the length, width, and wheelbase of the Nevo 07 are 5045, 1996, and 3120 mm, respectively, and the height is 1640/1665/1695 mm. While driving, the air suspension can automatically adjust the height of the vehicle according to the driving speed, reducing the drag coefficient to 0.237Cd.

The tail adopts the trunk design of pickup trucks with an electric and retractable top cover to transform into a pickup truck from SUV mode. The trunk load-bearing capacity is 300 kg. It can accommodate five adults to dance at the same time, according to the official.

Other features include level 2+ advanced driving assistance functions self-developed by Changan and in-vehicle satellite communication, which Changan claimed is the world’s first car to do so. The sensors onboard are two lidars, five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 high-definition cameras, powered by a NVIDIA Orin-x intelligent driving chip.

The EREV variant has two versions: single-motor and dual-motor. Both are equipped with a 1.5T range extender with a maximum power of 105 kW (141 hp). The single-motor version comes with a 231 kW (310 hp) rear electric motor while the dual-motor version adds a 131 kW (176 hp) front electric motor. The capacity of the battery pack is 39.05 kWh, providing a pure electric range of 200 km and 185 km, respectively.

For the EV variant, the single-motor version is equipped with a 252 kW (338 hp) rear electric motor while the dual-motor version adds a 188 kW (252 hp) front electric motor. They are all matched with ternary lithium battery packs, providing cruising ranges of 551 km, 651 km, 701 km, and 1,000 km. The 800V high-voltage fast charging is also supported, which can achieve a range of 365 km after charging for about 15 minutes.

The interior is minimalist, without an instrument panel. The 28.86-inch AR-HUD system and the 15.4-inch central control screen undertake most of the display and operation functions. The steering wheel buttons are designed to scroll, and the center console has two cup holders and a wireless charging panel.

In addition, the co-pilot has access to a ceiling entertainment screen, which can be awakened or opened through an AI voice assistant.
