Jaguar I-PACE achieves 5-star safety rating, watch the horrific crash test videos

Jaguar announced that its first all-electric vehicle, the I-PACE, has achieved a 5-star safety rating with Euro NCAP.

The electric SUV is still slowly rolling out in a few markets as they ramp up production.

In the meantime, they gave a few units to Euro NCAP to crash test the SUV.

This week, the agency announced that the Jaguar I-PACE achieved a 5-star safety rating.

It scored good protection for all critical body areas, including maximum points for both the side barrier impact and the more severe side pole test.

The electric SUV also scored 91% for adult occupant protection, 81% for child occupant protection, 73% for vulnerable road users, and 81% for safety assist, according to Euro NCAP:

Simon Black, senior project leader for body engineering at Jaguar Land Rover, commented:

“The Jaguar I-PACE has already received awards for its design, performance and handling. This latest award from Euro NCAP confirms the I-PACE’s exceptional safety standards. The SUV has been expertly engineered with a lightweight aluminium body structure and integrated battery pack to provide outstanding crash protection for occupants. Safety is our biggest priority and it is fantastic to see the Euro NCAP results reflect this.”
