On October 14, at the Paris Motor Show, the Hongqi EH7 sedan and EHS7 SUV opened pre-sales for the European market. Both cars are part of the Hongqi New Energy and use the FME platform.
Currently, only one version of each will be offered, with the Hongqi EH7 opening pre-sales at 49,999 Euros (54,650 USD) and the EHS7 SUV at 53,999 Euros (59,000 USD). This compares to five versions of the EH7 on sale in China, priced 229,800 – 309,800 yuan (32,400 – 43,700 USD). The EHS7 has yet to go on sale in China.
The EH7 is a medium-to-large all-electric sedan with dimensions of 4980, 1915, and 1490 mm (l/w/h), while the wheelbase is 3000 mm. The EHS7 is similarly large, with dimensions of length of 4925 mm and width and height of 1950 and 1680 mm, respectively. The wheelbase is the same, 3000mm.
Both cars have similar interiors, featuring a 6-inch instrument panel and a 15.5-inch infotainment screen. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset controls the infotainment. There is also an augmented reality head-up display.
Both cars’ single-motor versions use a 253 kW electric motor on the rear axle, while dual-motor versions add a 202 kW motor on the front axle. The Maximum torque for the dual-motor version is 756 Nm, which gives the EH7 an acceleration time of 3.9 seconds. The EH7 is available with 75, 85, and 111 kWh battery packs, giving ranges of between 600 and 820 km. Presumably, the EHS7 will offer the same battery capacities but lower ranges.
Fast charging from 30% to 80% SoC takes 17 minutes.
Despite the beginning of pre-sales in Europe, it is unclear when the cars will launch and when deliveries will begin. It should be noted that both cars were previously shown at Goodwood.
