Li Auto delivered the 1 millionth car in China
On October 18, Li Auto announced it delivered the 1 millionth car to a client. This means the company delivered 25,824 vehicles in the first 18 months of October, or around 1,379 vehicles per day. On October 15, Li Auto announced it had manufactured the 1 millionth vehicle, the Li Auto L9 flagship EREV (range extender) SUV.
Li Auto was founded in 2015, but it started selling cars four years ago, in 2019. Six months after the sales launch, Li Auto delivered 10,000 cars to its users. In late 2021, Li Auto sold 100,000 cars. Almost three years later, the company delivered 1 million cars. It took Li Auto 58 months (five years and ten months) to reach this milestone.
It is worth mentioning that Li Auto has sold 100,000 cars in the last two months. This automaker set its all-time high in September. Its retail sales volume reached 53,709 vehicles. The brandβs model line comprises four EREV crossovers: L6, L7, L8 and L9. And there is an all-electric minivan called Mega. The current bestseller is the Li Auto L6 range extended SUV (see specs). In September 2024, it sold 25,393 units. Previously, CarNewsChina reported Li Auto produces around 750 Li L6 crossovers daily at its Changzhou plant.
From January to October 18, Li Auto delivered 367,638 cars to its owners, completing 79.9% of its sales goal. However, Li had lowered its sales target twice this year. Initially, it pursued the ambitious goal of 800,000 deliveries in 2024. If Li Auto hadnβt changed its sales target, it would have reached only 45.95% by now.
