with 1,301 km range at $19,100 starting price

Mazda officially launched the Mazda EZ-6 on October 26, introducing a new mid-size sedan built on Changanβ€˜s EPA hybrid platform. With a lineup of seven models, prices range from 139,800 to 179,800 yuan (approximately 19,630 to 25,250 USD). The EZ-6 offers both fully electric (BEV) and range-extended (EREV) versions.

The EZ-6 follows Mazda’s β€œKodo” design language, featuring split headlights, LED daytime running lights, and an illuminated Mazda logo. Two new colors, β€œmoon grey” and β€œradiant gold,” use nano-grade pigments to enhance its appearance.

Viewed from the side, the EZ-6 has a fastback silhouette and a ducktail spoiler that deploys above 90 kph, designed to aid aerodynamics. Measuring 4,921 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,485 mm in height, with a 2,895 mm wheelbase, the EZ-6 provides more space compared to Deepal’s SL03 and L07 models.

The EZ-6 includes a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, and a 50-inch AR heads-up display (AR-HUD). The cabin is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset, which integrates climate, seat adjustments, and entertainment functions. Additional features include 13 ambient scene modes, a 64-color lighting system, a 14-speaker Sony audio system, and reclining front seats. A non-opening panoramic sunroof and four-zone voice activation are also available.

Mazda has mounted the drive selector on the steering column, freeing space on the center console, which includes two wireless phone charging slots.

The EV version has a 190 kW rear motor and two battery options: a 56.1 kWh pack for a 480 km CLTC range and a 68.8 kWh pack for a 600 km range. Both lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries charge from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes.

The EREV version includes a 1.5L JL473QJ engine generating 70 kW, paired with a 160 kW electric motor. Two battery configurations offer electric ranges of 130 km or 200 km and a maximum combined range of 1,301 km. It charges 30% to 80% in 20 minutes, supporting varied travel needs.

Mazda includes L2.5 driver assistance with adaptive cruise control, remote parking, and over 150 parking scenarios for daily driving. Mazda also announced plans to release another NEV model in 2025, expanding its electric vehicle lineup.
