The Denza Z9 sedan from BYD reached dealers in China as this car readies to enter the domestic market on November 15. The Denza Z9 is a sleek sedan with a 5.2-meter body, around 1,000 hp, three electric motors, and nine screens.
Denza was initially a joint brand between BYD and Mercedes-Benz founded in 2010. In 2021, the German automaker diluted its share in Denza to 10%. And in 2024, BYD acquired the remaining 10% from Mercedes. So, Denza turned to a BYD subsidiary. Its model line comprises the Denza D9 minivan, Denza N7 & N8 crossovers, and the Denza Z9 GT wagon (see specs). On November 15, Denza will launch the fifth model, which is the Z9 sedan.
Denza Z9 sedan reached dealers
The Denza Z9 sedan reached dealers on November 15. BYD had already applied for the sales license for this model. However, cars in showrooms are for display only. One of the spotted Denza Z9 sedans has a black body color and rides on chrome-plated multi-spoke rims. It has a continuous bonnet line, slanted A-pillars, and a sleek roofline. In the front, the Z9 has two-storey lights.
The spotted Denza Z9 sedan is PHEV. We can tell this by the larger air intake at the front end. This sedan is huge with dimensions of 5235/1990/1500 mm and a wheelbase of 3125 mm. From the back, it has Denza signature taillight units and a large diffuser.
Inside, the Denza Z9 tries to offer as many luxury features as possible. The center console of this sedan has three screens: a 13.2-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch floating main screen, and a 3.2-inch passenger display. There are also two smaller screens. One is in the rearview mirror, and another is dedicated to the refrigerator controls. In the second row, there are four more screens: two mounted on the front seats, and two displays for a climate control.

The BEV variant of the Z9 sedan has three motors for 710 kW (951 hp). Thanks to a 100 kWh battery, it can drive up to 630 km.
The price range of the Denza Z9 sedan is similar to the Denza Z9 GT wagon. It lies in the 334,800 β 414,800 yuan (47,100 β 58,400 USD) range. The new car will make its market debut on November 15 at the Guangzhou Auto Show.
