GAC Hyptec HL revealed in official images before the premiere

The GAC Hyptec HL 5.1-meter electric SUV was revealed in official images before the premiere at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2024 on November 15. The Hyptec HL features a hidden interactive light panel in the front end. It has dual-motor 4WD and the 800V platform.

Hyptec is an electric brand under GAC Group launched in 2023 with overseas ambitions. It was initially called β€œHyper”. However, in August 2024, GAC rebranded Hyper as Hyptec. The word β€œHyptec” consists of two parts: Hyp (means Hyper) and Tec (Technology). Hyptec’s current model line comprises three models: GT sedan, HT fatback SUV, and SSR sports car. GAC plans to introduce its fourth car at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2024 on November 15. It is the Hyptec HL flagship crossover, previously known as AH8.

The Hyptec HL was previously seen in China during road tests. On November 12, GAC shared official images of the flagship crossover. It has an elongated body with a low beltline and a flat roof with LiDAR sensor. The Hyptec HL adopts retractable door handles, multi-spoke 21-inch rims, and a single taillight unit. The front end of the Hyptec flagship SUV has two-storey headlights. The upper part is LED running lights. High beams are integrated into the front bumper.

One of the most interesting features of the Hyptec HL is a hidden interactive LED panel in the front end. It consists of multiple light units. Hyptec HL’s driver can project text and simple images via this element. Nowadays, the Geely-backed Zeekr offers a similar design feature, which is the Zeekr Stargate LED panel.

The brand’s flagship SUV will be available with an optional dual-motor 4WD. Its peak power output has yet to be revealed. Other features of the Hyptec HL include air suspension and an AI-powered ADIGO 6.0 driving assistance system.
