The weekly sales are published by Li Auto, and despite Li’s not explicitly saying it, they are based on insurance registration data. The numbers are rounded and present new energy vehicles (NEV) sales, the Chinese term for BEVs, PHEVs, and EREVs (range extenders). To be completely precise, it also includes hydrogen vehicles (FCEVs), but their sales are almost non-existent in China. BYD registered 94,700 vehicles, marking a 10.2% increase from the previous week’s registrations. Year-over-year, BYD’s registrations surged by 79.0%.
Tesla registered 17,100 vehicles, a 1.2% decline from the previous week. Year-over-year, Tesla’s registrations increased by 4.9%.
Li Auto registered 12,300 vehicles, reflecting a 5.1% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year, Li Auto’s registrations grew by 23.0%.
Stellantis-backed Leapmotor registered 8,500 vehicles, a 3.7% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year, Leapmotor’s registrations grew by 88.9%.
GAC Aion registered 7,400 vehicles, marking a 21.3% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year, Aion’s registrations grew by 7.2%.
Aito registered 7,200 vehicles, marking a 10.8% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year data for Aito is not available.
Volkswagen-backed Xpeng registered 6,300 vehicles, reflecting a 75.0% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year, Xpeng’s registrations grew by 50.0%.
Deepal registered 6,100 vehicles, marking a 5.2% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year, Deepal’s registrations rose by 74.3%.
Zeekr registered 6,000 vehicles, reflecting a 5.3% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year, Zeekr’s registrations surged by 150.0%.
Xiaomi Auto registered 5,700 vehicles, marking a 3.6% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year data for Xiaomi Auto is not available.
Nio registered 3,800 vehicles, reflecting a 26.7% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year, Nio’s registrations grew by 2.7%.
Nio’s mass market brand Onvo registered 1,015 vehicles, marking a 24.5% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year data for Onvo is not available as Onvo started deliveries nearly two months ago, on September 28.
ArcFox registered 2,400 vehicles, marking a 9.1% increase from the previous week. Year-over-year data for ArcFox is not available.
