On 28 November, Zeekr officially opened its 500th global showroom in Singapore. At the same time, the Chinese brand introduced its Zeekr 009 model to the Singaporean market.
The 500th store is located at 9 Leng Kee Road. Spanning two floors, the Zeekr Centre Singapore is designed to offer customers an immersive and personalized EV buying experience. With the opening of the Singapore store, the Zeke brand now has 447 showrooms in China and 53 overseas.
โWeโre thrilled to be able to celebrate this incredible milestone with our latest Zeekr Centre in Singapore as we continue to strengthen our presence in the country and the rest of Southeast Asia,โ said Mr Mars Chen, Vice President of Zeekr.
New to the store is the Zeekr 009 (see specs), which becomes the second model after the Zeekr X to be available in the Singapore market, the Zeekr X having been launched back in August. In Singapore, the Zeekr 009 Is available as both a seven-seater and a six-seater. Both versions use a 116 kWh battery delivering up to 582 km (WLTP) on a full charge. It should be noted that this appears to be a larger battery than available in China in the Chinese market where cars feature a 108 kWh battery. Fast charging to 80% takes 30 minutes, which means that the battery is probably not the 5C CATL Kirin battery used in China.
While a front-wheel-drive version is available in the Chinese market, only the dual-motor version is currently available in Singapore. This gives the MPV an acceleration time of just 4.5 seconds from 0 to 100km/h.
In Singapore, the seven-seat Zeekr 009 costs SGD 409,999 (305,000 USD), while the flagship six-seater variant costs SGD 419,999 (312,400 USD). Meanwhile, the Zeekr X is priced at SGD 199,900 (148,700 USD) for the rear-wheel drive version and SGD 214,900 (159,850 USD) for the all-wheel drive version.
The prices in Singapore are around five times those in China, partly because of factors such as the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) requirement to own a car in the country.
To date, Zeekr has sold more than 360,000 cars and currently sells in 40 markets worldwide, including developed markets such as Australia and the EU. The company has an ambitious roll-out plan over the next five years and expects to have 520 showrooms open by the end of 2024.
