Stellantis-backed Leapmotor B10 revealed specs, it aims at Europe

The Stellantis-backed Leapmotor B10 revealed specs in China as it applied for the sales license. It will enter the European market in late 2025 with a price below 30,000 EUR (31,700 USD). The Leapmotor B10 is a 4.5-meter crossover with a single e-motor for up to 214 hp. It will rival the BYD Atto 3.

Leapmotor is a 9-year-old Chinese automotive startup with an impressive sales performance. It sold over 250,000 units from January to November 2024. One of the world’s biggest car alliances Stellantis acquired 21% of Leapmotor in 2023. Two parties launched the Leapmotor International JV with Stellantis controlling 51% of the shares. The Leapmotor model line for Europe comprises two cars: the T03 hatchback and the C10 crossover. Next year, the Leapmotor B10 SUV will enter Europe.

Leapmotor B10 specs

The Leapmotor B10 adopts the brand’s latest design language, similar to the C10 and the C16 models. It has an elongated running light strip. The headlights of the car sit in the front bumper. The Leapmotor B10 has a closed front end with no grille. Instead, it has a large air intake. Other features of the B10 include retractable door handles, a single taillight unit, and a roof spoiler.

The Leapmotor B10 is a Tiguan-sized crossover with dimensions of 4515/1885/1655 mm. It has a wheelbase of 2735 mm. The car rides on 18-inch wheels. Its front and rear overhangs are 881 mm and 899 mm, respectively. As for the approach and departure angles, they reach 19 and 24 degrees. Interestingly, the front track of the Leapmotor B10 is 1615 mm. It is slightly wider than the rear track (1605 mm).

The Leapmotor has five seats inside. Its curb weight reaches 1670 – 1705 kg, depending on a powertrain option. Its gross weight reaches 2045 – 2080 kilos. The car can be equipped with a 360-degree camera system and a LiDAR sensor on the roof.

Leapmotor B10 powertrain

The entry-level Leapmotor B10 adopts the TZ180XS101 synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets from Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric. Its peak power reaches 132 kW (177 hp). With this e-motor, the top speed of the Leapmotor B10 reaches 160 km/h.

The second powertrain variant has the TZ180XY005 synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets from Jinghua Lingsheng Power. The same company supplies e-motors for the Leapmotor C10 and the Leapmotor C16 crossovers. Its peak power reaches 160 kW (214 hp). The car’s top speed reaches 170 km/h.

As mentioned, the Leapmotor B10 will enter the European market in late 2025 with a price tag below 30,000 EUR (31,700 USD).  For clarity, the BYD Atto 3 costs over 35,000 EUR in Europe (37,000 USD). So, the B10 can become a serious rival in the mass-market EV segment. The rivalry between the B10 and the Atto 3 is even more engaging, bearing in mind that Leapmotor adopts the same international strategy as BYD.

In China, this BEV crossover will start sales next year with a price range between 100,000 and 150,000 yuan (13,770 – 20,650 USD).
