The BYD-backed 2025 model year Denza D9 DM-i reached dealers in China before the sales launch. It will start sales on December 26, adding the 5.0 DM plug-in hybrid system and LiDAR on the roof. Those adjustments will boost the customers’ demand for this minivan as the competition intensifies in China.
The Denza D9 entered China in 2022, becoming the brand’s first product after Mercedes-Benz diluted its share in Denza from 50 to 10%. This vehicle became a huge success as its cumulative deliveries from October 2022 to November 2024 amassed 220,585 units. It is a considerable number since the starting price of this model is 339,800 yuan (46,600 USD). However, the Denza D9 sales number slid in H2 2024. So, BYD prepared the updated version of this minivan.

The 2025 Denza D9 DM-i’s dimensions remained mostly unchanged with length, width, and height of 5250 mm, 1960 mm, and 1920 mm, respectively. The car’s wheelbase reaches 3110 mm.
