Xpeng AeroHT clearly wants to make a statement with the modular flying car by presenting it at one of the biggest electronic exhibitions in the world. However, the company disclosed no plans for the potential launch of such a car in North America. So, it is more about building a reputation.

The Xpeng Land Aircraft Carrier will start volume production and deliveries in 2026. Its planned production capacity is 10,000 units per year. The Land Aircraft Carrier will cost up to 2 million yuan (280,000 USD). Although this car is still far from mass production, Xpeng AeroHT has already received a couple of thousands of orders from enterprises.

More about Xpeg modular flying car

The main part of the Xpeng Land Aircraft Carrier is the “Mothership.” It is a large three-axle vehicle with dimensions of 5.5/2/2 meters. This sizable trick is an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). This means it has an ICE under the hood acting like a generator. It only powers the battery and e-motors without sending torque to the wheels. The mixed range of the Xpeng Land Aircraft Carrier reaches 1,000 km.

The aircraft hides inside the Land Aircraft Carrier. It can be released with a one-button push. It supports 5-6 flights on a full charge. The “Mothership” can charge the aircraft’s battery from 30 to 80% in 18 minutes, thanks to the 800V high-voltage system. Back to the aircraft, it fits two passengers inside. It also supports two flying modes: manual and automatic. In November, the LAC’s unmanned aircraft performed the first public flight at the Zhuhai Airshow.
