Jaguar to unveil latest all-electric I-Pace prototype in Geneva

Jaguarโ€™s I-PACE is one of the most anticipated of the series of premium all-electric vehicles coming in the next few years. Theย British car manufacturer first unveiled the prototype last November and now it is prepared to bring the latest version at the Geneva Motor Show.

The company has announced some impressive specs for the vehicle, which is expected to enter production next year. Here are the main ones:

  • Range of โ€œover 500 kmโ€ NEDC-rated ย โ€“ so closer to ~250 real-world miles
  • 90 kWh battery pack developed by Jaguar (pack not the cells)
  • 700 Nm of torque
  • 0 to 60 mph in โ€œabout 4 secondsโ€
  • Drag coefficient of 0.29

While the platform is built to be electric, the design is heavily modeled off of Jaguarโ€™s F-PACE SUV but with design accents to make sure people know itโ€™s an EV.

Those โ€œelectrifyingโ€ design touches are less visible on the new prototype (pictured left below)ย than on the original one unveiled last year (right):

We can still see the tron-like blue trims, but the red paint job makes it look more like a production vehicle.

Hopefully, they will release more information about their first all-electric vehicle during the trade show. The timeline to production is not entirely clear, but it is expected in 2018. As for the price, it is also not clear, but it is expected to be priced close to the F-PACE, which starts atย $40,990.

They released more pictures of the new prototype thatย they are bringing to Geneva:
