Video: Living with a Chevy Silverado EV Truck as Your First Pickup Truck Ever…

TFL videographer / producer, Mary, has been daily driving a new Nissan Leaf for some time. Now, she gets upgraded up to a new Chevy Silverado EV RST for a few days. She has a long daily commute of around 80 miles, so a big vehicle with a lot of range may just be what she needs. Here is what happens when Mary drive this new Chevy truck for a week.

This RST (Rally Sport Truck) is a luxurious beast. It has a dual-motor AWD system with a total of 754 horsepower. It has a relatively huge battery that allows up to 440 miles of total driving range. It’s equipped with SuperCruise hands-free driver assistance system. It is capable of charging at up to 350 kW, which means it could gain up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes (according to Chevrolet). It has a crazy amount of space and comfort on the inside. It has a large bed and a mid-gate that expands its cargo carrying capability.

It’s rolling on 24-inch wheels and the price comes in at around $98,000.

Mary and Jen take this truck on our “Denver 100” highway efficiency loop. The truck returns 1.7 miles/kWh result. How does this efficiency compare to other vehicles? We recently tested a 2025 Rivian R1T dual-motor Gen2 and this smaller electric pickup returned 2.7 miles/kWh on this same Denver 100 loop.

What was the rest of the experience like? Please join Mary and Jen in the video below for all the details.
