Zeekr to start deliveries of customized Zeekr Mix to Waymo for robotaxi deployment in 2025

Zeekr will start mass production of Zeekr RT, a Waymo-customized version of Zeekr Mix, this year. Deliveries of Zeekr RT robotaxi to Waymo will begin later in 2025.

Zeekr RT minivan is already being tested and will be the “first mass-produced vehicle purpose-built for autonomous driving,” according to Zeekr. During the CES launch event, Zeekr CEO Andy An said this would mark the first Chinese car brand to enter the US.

Geely’s all-electric brand unveiled the Zeekr RT today at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas. The company also unveiled an autonomous driving domain controller based on the Nvidia Drive AGX Thor chip.

Thor is a high-performance system-on-chip (SoC) developed by Nvidia specifically for autonomous driving and intelligent vehicle applications. Thor is the successor to the Nvidia Drive Orin platform.

Zeekr claims the new domain controller makes them the first automaker to integrate the Thor SoC. The mass production of the new domain controller will also start in 2025, and the first EV that will feature it will be a large SUV codenamed DXE1. Zeekr didn’t specify the DXE1 launch date, but it will be in the third quarter, according to previous information.

Zeekr Mix minivan measures 4668/1995/1775 mm (length/width/height) and has a wheelbase of 3008 mm. Its front wheels can turn more than 50 degrees, resulting in a turning radius of 4.95 meters. This is better than the result of a Mini Cooper with a body length below 4 meters.

The powertrain of the Zeekr Mix adopts an electric motor in the rear axle with a peak power of 310 kW (415 hp). This family minivan can speed up to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The Zeekr Mix has a 76 kWh LFP battery on board as standard. It is suitable for the 550 km range under CLTC conditions. It also supports 5.5C charging technology. This means the charging power of the Zeekr Mix is 5.5 times higher than the battery capacity. This pack can charge from 10% to 80% in 10.5 minutes.

Zeekr Mix with a 76 kWh LFP battery is 279,900 yuan (39,000 USD) in China, and deliveries started on October 25.
