RHD Xpeng X9 debuts at Singapore Motorshow, sales open this month

Xpeng has debuted the right-hand drive version of the X9 at the Singapore Motorshow 2025. Although it has been known that Xpeng would sell the X9 in various right-hand drive markets, including Hong Kong, previously no RHD version has been seen.

The X9, which is Xpeng’s most expensive model, will be the second model to go on sale in Singapore after the G6.

Other than the steering wheel moving to the right, there appear to be a few fundamental differences between the RHD version of the X9 (see specs) and the original. The car measures 5293, 1988, 1785 mm (l/w/h), and it has a wheelbase of 3160 mm.

It rides on Xpeng’s SEPA2.0 platform and comes with rear-wheel steering to help with maneuvering such a large car. This helps reduce the turning radius down to 5.4 meters.

Initially, for right-hand drive markets, there appear to be two different variants: Standard Range and Long Range. These use the same size battery packs as the domestic models, with 84.5 kWh and 101.15 kWh, respectively. For the Singapore market, ranges are quoted using WLTP and are up to 480 km and 575 km, respectively, for the two versions.

The SEPA2.0 platform uses 800V architecture as standard. It gives the car a maximum charging capacity of 330 kW, which means it can go from 10% to 80% SoC in 20 minutes. This, it is claimed, is 50% faster than some of the car’s main competitors in the Singapore market.

Only the single-motor version of the X9 will be available in Singapore, and it is equipped with a 235 kW rear-mounted electric motor, which can produce up to 450 Nm of torque. This is enough to propel the X9 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds.

The X9 features an electric folding third row, which can convert the car to a four-seater with just one button. Trunk space is expandable from 755 liters to 2554 liters.

Orders for the Xpeng X9 will open in Singapore from the end of January. Xpeng began selling in Singapore in July 2024 when it launched the G6 in the market. After the Singapore Motorshow, which ends on January 12, the RHD version of the X9 will be displayed at the Xpeng Showroom at 281 Alexandra Road, the brand’s fourth store in Southeast Asia.

The right-hand drive version of the X9 will likely be introduced into other markets in the coming months.
