Tesla Model 3 price rose by 490 USD in China – added 28km range

The Tesla Model 3 price was increased in China by 3,600 yuan (490 USD) after the market launch of the new Model Y “Juniper.” The entry-level Model 3’s range was increased by 28 km, thanks to a bigger battery. Other specs remained the same.

Model 3 is the brand’s second bestselling vehicle in China, after the Model Y crossover. Data from China EV DataTracker shows that Tesla sold 155,747 units of the Model 3 from January to November 2024 in the Middle Kingdom. Now, Tesla raised the prices of the Model 3.

Tesla Model 3 price increased in China

On January 10, each trim level of the Tesla Model 3 in China went up by 3,600 yuan (490 USD). The prices of this electric sedan are as follows:

  • Tesla Model 3 RWD: 235,500 yuan (32,100 USD)
  • Tesla Model 3 AWD Long-Range: 275,500 yuan (37,550 USD)
  • Tesla Model 3 AWD Performance: 339,500 yuan (46,300 USD)

It is worth noting that the entry-level Tesla Model 3 got a new 62.5 kWh LFP battery from CATL, suitable for a 634 km range (CLTC conditions). Previously, the entry-level Model 3 offered a 60 kWh pack for a 606 km range. So, the car’s range was increased by 28 km. The performance of this EV remained the same, with a 194 kW (260 hp) electric motor and a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 6.1 seconds. The car’s energy consumption is 11.2 kWh/100km.

Other trim levels of the Tesla Model 3 remained untouched. We will remind you that the Tesla Model 3 boasts dimensions of 4720/1848/1442 mm. Its other two variants offer 623 km and 713 km range. The fastest version of the Model 3 has a peak power of 343 kW (460 hp). It speeds up to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. The Tesla Model 3 is assembled in China by the Tesla Shanghai factory.

On January 10, Tesla China also launched the new Model Y nicknamed “Juniper.” It has a Cybertruck face and lots of enhancements. The new SUV will start deliveries in the Middle Kingdom in March 2025 with two trim levels and a price range of 263,500 – 303,500 yuan (35,950 – 41,400 USD).
