Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i started pre-sales in China at 12,650 USD

The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i started pre-sales in China with the company’s latest Leishen plug-in hybrid powertrain and a starting price of 92,800 yuan (12,650 USD). This vehicle undercuts the BYD Qin L. Previously, Geely officials claimed that its PHEV system is more efficient than the BYD’s 5-gen DM powertrain.

The Geely Galaxy L6 sedan was initially launched in China in September 2023. However, its cumulative sales volume reached 74,278 until December 2024. Now, the updated variant of this model has entered the market with a refreshed styling and a new powertrain.

The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i’s exterior remained untouched. However, the new model got traditional door handles instead of retractable ones. This design element enhances the car’s reliability and helps to cut its costs. Dimensions of the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i are 4782/1875/1489 mm with a wheelbase of 2752 mm.

The interior of the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i got a lot of notable changes. The center console of this sedan has a horizontally-oriented 14.6-inch screen. Its center tunnel adopts two wireless charging pads, two cup holders, and a rotary gear shifter. We will remind you that the gear shifter of the Galaxy L6 was previously placed behind the wheel. The steering wheel of the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i also has a refreshed design.

The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i adopts the Geely’s Leishen 2.0 (NordThor 2.0) powertrain. It comprises a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine for 82 kW (110 hp) paired with a 1-speed DHT gearbox that integrates a 160-kW (214 hp) electric motor. The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i has two LFP battery options made by SVOLT: 8.5 kWh for 48 km of electric range, and 19.1 kWh for 115 km of EV range. Thanks to the 60-liter fuel tank, the Galaxy L6 EM-i has a mixed range of 1,300 km.

Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i presales

The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i became available for pre-order with five trim levels. The variant with a smaller battery pack has a price range of 92,800 – 102,800 yuan (12,650 – 14,050 USD). Its entry-level trim is 4,000 yuan (545 USD) cheaper than the BYD Qin L DM-i.

The L6 EM-i with a bigger battery pack has three trim levels with a price range of 105,800 – 119,800 yuan (14,450 – 16,350 USD). It is worth noting that the first customers of the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i who place orders before the sales launch will be able to buy the car for a lower price of 89,800 – 116,800 yuan (12,250 – 15,950 USD).
