Denza N9 arrived at dealer in China, price starts at 49,500 USD, source says

BYD’s Denza N9 flagship SUV was spotted at a dealership in China, according to the Chinese website called Difans. Earlier this month, Zhao Changjiang, General Manager of Sales at Denza, announced that the Denza N9 will arrive at major dealers around the Lunar New Year (which starts on January 29), and will start test drive activities, followed by the official launch soon after. Both PHEV and EV variants will be offered.

The sales associate further revealed that the entry-level trim without the roof lidar will start at 359,800 yuan (49,500 USD) while the top-end trim is expected to cost around 450,000 yuan ( 61,900 USD).

Difans is an online platform that brings together people who love the BYD brand, share green travel concepts, and exchange new energy vehicle technology and usage experiences, according to the website page.

In addition to the standard trims, the Denza N9 also has a drone docking station version, which was previously exposed by the Chinese MIIT.

Positioned as a medium-to-large SUV, the Denza N9 measures 5258/2030/1830 mm with a 3125 mm wheelbase. Built based on BYD’s e3 platform, the Denza N9 is expected to support rear-wheel steering, crab walk, lateral parking, and tank turn. Additionally, BYD’s “God’s Eye” BAS 3.0+ advanced driving assistance system is also expected to be present for the trims that come with a roof lidar.

The PHEV variant is powered by a 152 kW (204 hp) 2.0T engine and three 200 kW/240 kW/240 kW electric motors with a combined power of 680 kW (912 hp), paired with 46.992 kWh BYD Blade battery packs. The previously declared pure electric range was 165 km.

The EV variant’s three electric motors have a combined output of 710 kW (952 hp). The battery capacity and range info have not been revealed at this time.

Inside, the three screens stand out in the front row in addition to the streaming screens for the digital side mirrors on each side, consisting of a 17.3-inch floating central control screen, a 13.2-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a co-pilot entertainment screen. A 50-inch AR-HUD is also present. The center console comes with two 50W mobile phone wireless charging panels, an air-conditioning outlet, and physical control buttons below the outlet.

The interior adopts a 2+2+2 layout. Each seat can be electrically adjusted and comes with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The zero-gravity co-pilot seat has a queen mode and leg support along with the second row of seats. Rear passengers will also have access to a ceiling entertainment screen and small foldable tables.
