The Xiaomi YU7 SUV has been seen on road tests in Guangxi, China. The new spy shots offer a detailed look at Xiaomiβs first electric SUV. Set to launch in June 2025, the YU7 is positioned to compete with the Tesla Model Y, with a starting price expected around 250,000 yuan (approximately 34,200 USD).
The YU7 features a sporty design with dimensions of 4999 mm in length, 1996 mm in width, 1600 mm in height, and a 3000 mm wheelbase. Its long front hood and sleek profile draw comparisons to the Ferrari Purosangue while retaining a distinct identity. The front includes aggressive cooling vents, a prominent front lip, and unique headlights with functional air ducts. The roof houses a lidar sensor, indicating advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
The side profile incorporates hidden door handles, a panoramic glass roof, and low-drag alloy wheels. The rear features a U-shaped LED light bar, dual spoilers, and a bold diffuser with air outlets, emphasizing its athletic stance.
While interior details remain limited, earlier leaks suggest a futuristic cabin with a curved display spanning the dashboard, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a large central touchscreen. Physical buttons are minimal, creating a clean, modern aesthetic.
The YU7 will offer single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD configurations. The AWD variant includes a 220 kW front motor and a 288 kW rear motor, delivering a combined 508 kW (691 hp) and a 253 km/h top speed. It offers a range of up to 760 km (CLTC) using a CATL ternary lithium battery. With a 235 kW rear motor and an LFP battery, the RWD version targets affordability with a 240 km/h top speed.
Initially rumored for a March 2025 launch, the YU7βs release was delayed to mid-2025 to align with Xiaomiβs factory expansion. Competing directly with the Tesla Model Y, Zeekr 7X (see specs), and Avatr 07 (see specs), the YU7 combines performance, technology, and affordability.
