KG Mobility (KGM) announced on the 18th that it will be able to purchase it at around 30 million won as the government subsidy for eco-friendly cars for its electric pickup truck “Musso EV” has been confirmed.
The Musso EV is the first electric pickup in Korea and is a model with the comfort, economy, and practicality of an electric sport utility vehicle (SUV). It is equipped with an 80.6kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) blade battery and a 152.2kW drive motor. KGM explains that it can drive 401km (based on 2WD) per charge, even though it has a large air resistance structure with an open loading space unique to pickup.

Key specifications include ▲ Utility Loop Rack ▲ 17in Diamond Cutting Wheel ▲ Alpine Audio System ▲ Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, and ▲ Sunroof ▲ AWD ▲ Self-Level Riser ▲ 3D Aroundview Monitoring System.
The basic price of the KGM Musso EV is ▲STD 48 million won ▲ DLX 50.5 million won. Since it is classified as an electric cargo vehicle, the actual purchase price is expected to be in the late 30 million won (39.62 million won) if it is applied to 6.52 million won more government subsidies than passenger electric vehicles and 1.86 million won in Seoul standard subsidies.

An official from KGM said, “In Incheon (3.16 million won), Busan (2.40 million won), Daejeon (2.29 million won), and Daegu and Gwangju (1.92 million won) can receive larger subsidies than Seoul,” adding, “If you are a small business owner, you can save about 14.1 million won (expected) by receiving additional support and VAT refund, so the actual purchase price will be lowered to 33 million won.”
In addition, various tax benefits such as ▲ individual consumption tax and education tax exemption ▲ 5% reduction in acquisition tax (up to 1.4 million won) ▲ 28,500 won in annual automobile tax will be applied as cargo electric vehicle benefits. Low maintenance costs are also a strength. According to KGM, the cost of driving the Musso EV for five years is 5.8 million won, which can save about 14 million won compared to the gasoline pickup model.

“The Musso EV boasts overwhelming price competitiveness compared to internal combustion engine pickups in terms of overall operational economics, including the purchase and use stages due to the nature of eco-friendly cars,” a KGM official said. “It will be a more economical and practical option in the era of high oil prices.”
