KG Mobility (KGM) has launched its electric pickup truck “Musso EV” with an actual purchase price of 30 million won. It has a strong design, secured interior space of more than medium-sized sports utility (SUV) and secured a charging distance of 400 kilometers per charge.
On the 5th, KGM held a ‘Musso EV New Vehicle Presentation’ at KGM headquarters in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do. The presentation was attended by KGM Chairman Kwak Jae-sun and Kwak Jung-hyun, head of the business strategy division, the eldest son of Kwak.

Chairman Kwak said in his welcoming speech, “KGM has been a ‘loser’ in the automobile market, but it will not go back to the difficult past. As it is a small company, we will move faster and leap to become a global automobile leader.”
“As the chairman, the first car I approved for the development of a new car is a Musso EV, so I have a special feeling,” he said, adding, “I will make the Musso brand more proud starting with this car.”
The Musso EV is equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) blade batteries from BYD, a Chinese electric vehicle. It has secured a charging distance of 400 km per charge with a capacity of 80.6 kWh. The combined total cost is 4.2 km per 1 kWh based on a 17-inch wheel 2WD. It can charge up to 80% in 24 minutes when charging 200kWh fast, and is also equipped with a V2L function that can draw vehicle power to the outside.

Based on KGM’s design philosophy, ‘Powered by Toughness’, the exterior of the vehicle is applied with a strong design unique to pickup. In particular, it is designed based on the concept of “handy and tough” that is convenient and strong.
The interior has secured space equivalent to a medium-sized sports utility vehicle (SUV). KGM emphasized that it has secured sliding and reclining functions for seats in the second row and large head and leg spaces.

As a pickup truck, the deck of the Musso EV can load up to 500kg. Deck tops, roll bars, and deck sliding covers are newly applied, and customized styles through various packages are also possible.
The maximum output of the 2WD model is 207 horsepower (ps) and the maximum torque is 34.6 kgfΒ·m. The performance of the four-wheel drive model is 413 horsepower and 64.9 kgfΒ·m, respectively.
KGM emphasized that the Musso EV can expect advantages as a reasonable electric vehicle.
The base price is 48 million won for MX and 50.5 million won for Black Edge. You can receive 6.52 million won in state subsidies, which is more than electric vehicles for passenger cars. KGM explained that if local government subsidies (1.86 million won) are added based on the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the actual purchase price of the MX model will be in the late 30 million won (39.62 million won). In particular, small business owners can lower their actual purchase prices to about 33 million won by applying additional support and VAT refunds.
Meanwhile, KGM succeeded the famous car “Muso,” which was discontinued in 2005, and revived it as the pickup brand “Muso.” The Musso EV is the first model of the pickup brand Musso, and will later launch pickup lineups such as Musso Sports, which connects Rexton Sports, and Musso Khan, which connects Rexton Sports.
