BYD’s high-end brand Yangwang officially announced that the launch event for its million-yuan (138,400 USD) class flagship electric sedan, the Yangwang U7, is scheduled for March 27. The new vehicle will feature e4 platform technology and be equipped with a quad-motor setup driving all four wheels.

The vehicle features an overall downward-pressed stance, complemented by the brand’s signature headlight design, further enhancing the recognition of its front fascia. The roof is also equipped with LiDAR sensors.

The new car measures 5265/1998/1517mm with a wheelbase of 3160mm. Thanks to body flow control technology and optimized aerodynamic attachments in multiple areas, the Yangwang U7 achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.195Cd.

For the interior, the new car will continue the “Star Ring Cockpit” design concept from the Yangwang U8, featuring a 12.8-inch OLED curved screen in the center position. It’s equipped with the new generation DiLink intelligent connectivity system powered by a 4nm cockpit chip, supporting full-scenario voice assistance. Additionally, the Yangwang U7 comes with AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Head-Up Display) functionality.

Leveraging the extreme performance of the e4 platform, each of the Yangwang U7’s electric motors delivers a maximum power of 240kW, with the vehicle’s total output exceeding 1,300 horsepower. The quad-motor setup produces a peak torque of approximately 1,584N·m at a peak rotation speed of 21,000rpm, with a powertrain efficiency reaching 94.5%. The 0-100km/h acceleration is achieved in as little as 2.9 seconds.

The Yangwang U7 comes standard with two Nvidia Orin-X autonomous driving chips, providing a combined computing power of 508 TOPS. It’s equipped with 3 ultra-long-range LiDARs, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 13 HD cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars, enabling L2+ advanced driver assistance capabilities.

All Yangwang vehicles are built on an 800V high-voltage platform. The Yangwang U7 supports dual-gun ultra-fast charging with a maximum charging power of 500kW, allowing it to gain nearly 300 kilometers of range with just 10 minutes of charging. According to reports, the Yangwang U7 EV version achieves a CLTC range of 720 kilometers.

To meet diverse user needs, Yangwang is also launching a U7 PHEV version, equipped with a newly self-developed high-performance engine. According to sources, the Yangwang U7 PHEV version achieves a combined range of 1,000 kilometers.
