With China’s EV market on the rise, GAC Honda is not only committing to a new New Energy Vehicle (NEV) factory but also introducing an all-new model — the Honda P7.

Developed from the ground up as a pure electric vehicle, the Honda P7 is a mid-sized SUV that showcases Honda’s latest design language. It is the second model with the new Ye logo — a modified Honda emblem without the outer ring.
Speaking of the Ye branding, since the sub-brand debuted in China last year, it appears that Honda is distancing itself from it. As such, the model is marketed in China as the Honda P7. For those keeping track, the P7 is a twin model to the Honda S7 — the latter manufactured by Honda’s other joint venture, Dongfeng Honda.
The Honda P7 debuts the new Ye logo

Like other Ye concept cars, the logo is positioned at the upper section of the light bar. Speaking of lighting, the Honda P7 features sharp-looking LED headlights, with a similarly sleek design extending to the taillights. Enhancing its futuristic appeal, the P7 replaces traditional side mirrors with side-view cameras.

The exterior of the Honda P7 boasts a striking mix of angular design elements, including the lower air intake, wheel arches, spoiler, and rear diffuser.
Interior of the Honda P7 is adorned by screens

Inside, the Honda P7 is equipped with a large 12.8-inch infotainment display at the centre of the dashboard. To the left, a two-tone, three-spoke steering wheel sits in front of a slim digital instrument cluster.

The digital side-view cameras feed live footage to screens positioned at the top edge of the door panels. Additionally, the P7 features a digital rear-view mirror with a built-in DVR (digital video recorder).
Safety is a top priority in the P7 with Honda Sensing 360+
Beyond the screens, the Honda P7 is the third Honda model to incorporate the upgraded Honda Sensing 360+ safety suite (The Honda S7 is the first, followed by the recent China market Honda Accord facelift). This system builds upon the proven Honda Sensing 360, adding advanced features like Highway Navigation Assist.

The Honda P7 measures 4750/1930/1625mm and has a wheelbase of 2930mm. For perspective, that would put it close to models like the petrol-powered Porsche Macan (4726/1922/1621mm, wheelbase 2807mm).
Large 89.9 kWh battery pack offers up to 650 km range
GAC Honda will offer the Honda P7 with either a single (2WD) or twin motor (AWD) configuration. The former features a single, rear-mounted electric motor that outputs 200 kW (268 hp), while the latter gets an additional front-mounted electric motor for a combined output of 350 kW (469 hp).

Regardless of configuration, the Honda P7 is powered by an 89.9 kWh CATL-sourced battery pack, which allows for a CLTC-rated range of 650 km (2WD). The AWD version’s range is marginally lower, reaching 620 km.
While GAC Honda has yet to reveal the prices of the Honda P7, its sibling model, the Honda S7, is priced from 259,900 yuan (35,700 USD). As such, the P7 will likely start at a similar ballpark. More in-depth details of the Honda P7 will be released closer to the model’s official launch later this month.
