Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun teases Xiaomi YU7, the company’s second model with 681 hp

Hot on the heels of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra launch earlier this year, Xiaomi is already gearing up for its next model – the Xiaomi YU7.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun recently shared a set of photos on social media, giving us a clear look at the upcoming SUV in natural lighting. Notably, the last time we saw the YU7, it was showcased in an enclosed space.

At first glance, the Xiaomi YU7 is unmistakably a Xiaomi vehicle. Its front fascia resembles a more bulbous version of the SU7, with similarly shaped headlights and a signature lighting element cutting across the assembly.

Like the SU7, the YU7 features a LiDAR sensor mounted at the edge of the roof, suggesting that it will offer advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) similar to its sedan counterpart. The SUV is also seen sporting Turbofan-inspired wheels, but Xiaomi plans to offer 26 different wheel designs for the YU7 if that’s not your style.

How big is the Xiaomi YU7?

This mid-large SUV measures 4999/1996/1608 mm and has a wheelbase of 3000 mm. These dimensions place the Xiaomi YU7 between models like the BMW X5 (5060/2004/1776 mm, wheelbase 3105 mm) and Lexus RX (4890/1920/1695 mm, wheelbase 2850 mm).

Xiaomi YU7 powertrain options

Like the Xiaomi SU7, Xiaomi is expected to offer the YU7 with several powertrain options. The base variants feature a single, rear-mounted motor that does 235 kW (315 hp) and is powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery pack.

Moving up the hierarchy would net buyers a dual-motor, all-wheel drive configuration that features a 220 kW (295 hp) front motor and 288 kW (376 hp) rear motor, allowing for a combined output of 508 kW (681 hp). AWD variants of the Xiaomi YU7 are powered by a ternary lithium battery.

Expected launch and pricing of the Xiaomi YU7

As per previous reports, Xiaomi is expected to launch the YU7 in China between June and July 2025, with an estimated price range of 300,000 yuan (41,060 USD) to 400,000 yuan (54,840 USD).

Those outside of China may need to wait a bit longer, as Xiaomi hopes to begin exporting their models overseas starting in 2027.
