Hongqi Tiangong 06 all-electric SUV with 700 km range pre-sale starts at 25,500 USD

On March 31, Hongqi opened its new pure electric SUV, the Tiangong 06, for pre-sale available in six trims built based on the 400V platform:

  • Tiangong 06 520: 184,800 yuan (25,500 USD)
  • Tiangong 06 700: 200,800 yuan (27,700 USD)
  • Tiangong 06 660 4WD: 220,800 yuan (30,400 USD)
  • Tiangong 06 520 Intelligent Driving Edition : 194,800 yuan (26,800 USD)
  • Tiangong 06 700 Intelligent Driving Edition: 210,800 yuan (29,000 USD)
  • Tiangong 06 660 4WD Intelligent Driving Edition: 230,800 yuan (31,800 USD)

Four more trims based on the 900V platform will also be launched in the future. Previously, Hongqi’s Tiangong series launched the Tiangong 05 and 08 on the Chinese market.

Positioned as a mid-size SUV, the length, width, and height of the Hongqi Tiangong 06 are 4750/1900/1640 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm and a drag coefficient of 0.259Cd. For the exterior, popular design elements such as the closed front face, slender headlights, and hidden door handles are present, paired with 19-inch or 20-inch rims. The red Hongqi logo is also positioned in the center front, and when paired with the forked taillight group, makes the vehicle highly recognizable.

The Intelligent Driving Edition is equipped with Hongqi’s Sinan Intelligent Driving system, which adopts a camera-only solution to achieve level 2.9 advanced driving assistance capabilities, supporting urban and highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) as well as parking assistance.

Both RWD and AWD are offered. The RWD has an electric motor that outputs a maximum power of 210 kW (282 hp) and a peak torque of 317 Nm, matched with either a 62 kWh or 85 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack supplied by CATL. The CLTC cruising range is 520 km and 700 km, respectively. At the same time, the AWD comes with an additional 202 kW (271 hp) front electric motor, bringing the total power to 412 kW (553 hp) and torque to 623 Nm; matched with an 85 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, providing a CLTC cruising range of 660 km. Under fast charging, it takes 20 minutes to recharge the battery from 10% to 80%.

Although the 900V-platform-based trims were not opened for pre-sale at this time, it was revealed that the RWD version is powered by a 300 kW (402 hp)/450 Nm electric motor while the AWD version is powered by an additional 180 kW (241 hp) front electric motor with a comprehensive torque of 770 Nm. Both are matched with a ternary lithium battery with a capacity of 98 kWh. The RWD has a CLTC range of 780 km and the AWD has a CLTC range of 740 km.

The interior is available in five colors, namely, white, purple, brown, gray, and ochre brown. Most notably, there is a 15.6-inch 2.5K floating central control screen with a built-in Lingxi smart cockpit system developed by Hongqi, which comes with an AI voice assistant. The traditional LCD instrument panel was abandoned, instead an AR-HUD is in place.

Moreover, the standard trunk volume is 472 L and can be expanded to 1611 L after the rear seats are folded down.
