On April 6, BYD announced that both its Han L and Tang L flagship all-electric models will officially enter the Chinese market on April 9. Earlier on March 17, the pre-sale opened with a price range of 270,000 β 350,000 yuan (37,100 β 48,100 USD) and 280,000 β 360,000 yuan (38,500 β 49,500 USD), respectively.

Both models are built on BYDβs Super e-Platform, featuring a 30,000 RPM motor, a 1000V high-voltage architecture, and a Flash Charging Battery, which has a charging current of 1000A,Β a charging rate of 10C, and can charge 1 second for 2 km, according to BYD. Dual-gun fast charging is also supported.

Additionally, the 30,000 RPM motor has a rotational frequency of up to 30,511 revolutions per minute and a power-to-weight ratio of 16.4 kW/kg (22 hp/kg).
Han L EV

The Han L EV sedan has dimensions of 5050/1960/1505 mm and a wheelbase of 2970 mm, which is 55 mm longer and the wheelbase has increased by 50 mm compared with the current Han model. Adopting the Loong Face design concept and a fastback shape, the Han L EV has a drag coefficient of 0.23Cd.

Two powertrain versions are offered for consumers to choose from. The RWD has a maximum power of 500 kW (670 hp) while the AWD has a maximum power of 810 kW (1,086 hp) with 230 kW in the front/580 kW in the rear, matched with BYDβs 83.212 kWh second-generation Blade LFP battery packs, providing a CLTC range of 701 km and 601 km for the RWD and AWD, respectively. The declared official top speed is 270 km/h but the real-world-tested top speed is 305 km/h. Furthermore, the Tang L EV can accelerate from 0 β 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds.

At the same time, the onboard BYD βGodβs Eyeβ B advanced intelligent driving system (DiPilot 300) supported by a roof lidar, front cameras, rear cameras, and high-definition maps to realize urban and highway Navigation On Autopilot (NOA) as well as parking assistance functions.
Tang L EV

The Tang L EV measures 5040/1996/1760 mm with a 2950 mm wheelbase, which is 170 mm longer and the wheelbase is 130 mm longer than the current Tang model. In terms of power, the Tang L EV has similar specs as that of the Han L EV, except the entire series is equipped with 100.531 kWh second-generation BYD Blade LFP battery packs. The RWD has a CLTC range of 670 km, the standard AWD has a CLTC range of 600 km, and the vehicle-mounted drone system AWD version has a CLTC range of 560 km.
Furthermore, the Tang L EVβs official top speed is 265 km/h, the real-world-tested top speed is 287 km/h, and the 0 β 100 km/h acceleration time is 3.6 seconds.

The Tang L EV is also equipped with BYDβs βGodβs Eyeβ B intelligent driving system.

Coming inside, the interior adopts a 2+3+2 7-seat layout with the front seats supporting heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The second and third-row seats can be folded down to expand the rear trunk volume to 1,960L in addition to the 136L front trunk volume.

The cockpit and center console layouts are similar to the Han L EV and come with BYDβs DiLink 5.0 system. There is a 15.6-inch rotary central control screen, an AR-HUD, a flat-bottom steering wheel, an embedded LCD instrument panel behind the steering wheel, wireless charging on the center console, and an onboard refrigerator.
