There are reports that Jeff Bezos is secretly building a $25,000 EV pickup truck.
Itβs been claimed that the Amazon executive chairman is funding a Michigan-based EV startup.
Slate Auto is apparently working on a two-seat electric truck, which could cost only $25k.
This wonβt be Bezosβ first venture into the world of EVs, but it could be his most significant.

You donβt have to be a car expert to know that EVs are big business these days.
And itβs not just the traditional titans of the industry like Tesla, BYD, and Li Autos that are getting in on the action.
Toyota recently announced it would be launching 10 new EVs over the next three years, with Ford also turning its bestseller into an EV.
And Bezos is no stranger to the market either, with Amazon being a major investor in Rivian.
In fact, more than $1.3 billion has been invested into the EV company, which is contracted to provide delivery vans for the online retailer.
This isnβt the only time Bezosβ name will be attached to an EV, however.
According to a report from TechCrunch, the billionaire is also looking to invest in Slate Auto.
The Michigan-based EV startup wants to produce a two-seat electric truck, which would only cost $25,000.
Slate Auto started up in 2022, in the wake of Re:Build Manufacturing, another company that Bezos put his money into.
Although its activities have been relatively lowkey, Slate Auto has been quietly hiring hundreds of employees within the area.
Many of these new hires have come from other automakers, such as Ford, GM, and Stellantis.
As of yet, not a lot of details have been revealed about this $25k EV truck.
Insiders have told TechCrunch that the Ford Model T and VW Beetle have been big inspirations in the designing process.
Production is set to fire up in 2026 β the same year as this EV roadster, funnily enough.
A manufacturing facility is reportedly going to be built just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Until itβs made official, though, weβll just have to wait and see what the Amazon founder has planned.
But with Bezosβ name attached and a irresistible $25,000 price tag, we know for sure that this truck will be generating more headlines in the years to come.
