On April 12, GAC launched its new Hyptec HL SUV available in EV and EREV variants with a price range of 269,800 – 319,800 yuan (36,900 – 43,800 USD). Hyptec is a high-end new energy brand under GAC that was rebranded from Hyper in August 2024.






The Hyptec HL adopts the land yacht design concept, according to the official. The headlights are comprised of crystal lamp beads and the center grille is inlaid with individual light units that can form different lighting patterns. Consumers can choose from four exterior paints: Nautical Blue, Ice Rock Gray, Deep Sea Green, and Night Shadow Black.


A roof lidar, three millimeter-wave radars, 11 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars are onboard the Hyptec HL to realize advanced driving assistance capabilities combined with GAC’s ADiGO system without relying on a high-definition map. The capabilities include static obstacle detection, narrow space parking assistance, autonomous valet parking, remote parking assistance, and blind spot monitoring.

The entire series comes standard with an 800V fast-charging platform. 3C charging rate is available on two entry-level RWD EV variants and takes 15 minutes to recharge from 30% to 80%. 5C charging rate is available on the remaining trims and takes 10 minutes to recharge from 30% to 80%.

- AWD: 130 kW (174 hp)/240 Nm front electric motor, 250 kW/430 Nm rear electric motor, 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds
Both versions are equipped with 95.9 kWh and 108.35 kWh ternary lithium battery packs, providing three CLTC ranges of 670 km, 700 km, and 750 km. The lowest comprehensive power consumption is 15.8kWh/100km.
EREV
- RWD: 1.5T engine, 53 L fuel tank, 250 kW/430 Nm rear electric motor, 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds, 60.33 kWh CATL Freevoy (ternary lithium) battery packs, CLTC pure electric range of 350 km, CLTC comprehensive range of 1200 km, comprehensive power consumption of 15.9kWh/100km


The Hyptec HL measures 5126/1990/1750 mm, with a wheelbase of 3088 mm. Both 5- and 6-seater layouts are offered in 2+3 and 2+2+2 configurations, respectively. Hyptec claimed the second row’s double zero-gravity seats are of NASA standard and support 12-way electric adjustment, an 18-point hot stone massage function, and dual armrest screens.

The interior is powered by GAC’s ADiGO 6.0 smart cockpit system with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, integrated with the DeepSeek-R1 AI model to realize voice interaction. There is also an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 27-inch HUD, a 17.3-inch 3K central control screen, and 50W wireless charging pads on the center console.






Rear passengers have access to a 17.3-inch 3K ceiling screen and a refrigerator. The sound system consists of 24 speakers along with more than 60 sound-absorbing materials and soundproof glasses.
