Li Auto i8 SUV is nearly 5.1 meters long and packs a maximum power of 536 hp. It is equipped with an NMC battery and 5C charging. Li Auto announced that the price will be around 400,000 yuan (54,400 USD).
i8 is Li Autoβs second all-electric car. The Beijing-based automaker originally produced only EREVs (extended range electric vehicles). Last year, it launched its first all-electric car, Li MEGA MPV. However, its futuristic coffin-shaped design didnβt have much success in China, and low sales resulted in Li Auto delaying the launch of other all-electric models.

Today, the Chinese regulator under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MITT) disclosed Li Auto i8 images without camo as the company applied for a sales license in China. No car can be sold in China without MIIT approval.
Automakers are usually not happy about MIIT disclosing the images and key specs before the official launch, as it reveals some of their secrets. However, many of them, including Li Auto, adapted to it and shared new information about the cars as MIIT published the homologation filings.

The filling revealed that the i8 is a large 6-seater with dimensions 5085/1960/1740 mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 3050 mm. Its curb weight is 2,610 kg. It has a lidar above the front windshield.
The EV is AWD and powered by two e-motors. One is mounted on the front axle and has 150 kW power, while the second is on the rear axle and has 205 kW power. The maximum output is 400 kW (536 hp), and the top speed is limited to 180 km/h.
Li Auto also shared official information about the car. It will feature a ternary (NMC) battery with 5C charging support. The price will be around 400,000 yuan (54,400 USD).
Li Auto plans to have 2,500 supercharging stations with 15,000 superchargers in China upon car launch. i8 will launch in July and will have a public debut, most likely, next week at the Shanghai Auto Show.
