Geely has reached a production milestone, with the 200,000th Geome Xingyuan (see specs) electric vehicle rolling off the assembly line. The Xingyuan is positioned as a budget-friendly city EV and has become one of several models competing with BYDβs popular Seagull in Chinaβs entry-level electric vehicle market.

Pricing and powertrain options
The Geome Xingyuan starts at 68,800 yuan (approximately 9,550 USD) before incentives and is available with two motor options: a 58 kW version offering a 310 km CLTC range and an 85 kW version with a 410 km range. Compared to some other vehicles in the segment, this provides buyers with a broader choice of configurations.

Design and dimensions
The Xingyuan adopts Geelyβs rounded front-end design and measures 4135/1805/1570mm with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. This layout results in a relatively spacious cabin, especially in the rear, compared to similarly sized vehicles like the BYD Seagull. The model is offered in several exterior colours, including pink and blue variants, and features semi-hidden door handles and a hatchback-style rear.

Interior features and technology
Interior equipment includes an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel as standard and an optional 14.6-inch central touchscreen powered by Flyme Auto OS. Other features include a 540-degree camera system, heated seats, wireless charging, and a pedestrian alert system using external audio. Driving modes tailored for different scenarios, including outdoor use, are also included.

Battery and charging
Both powertrain variants are equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries from CATL. Fast charging is supported, with the battery charging from 30% to 80% in about 21 minutes. The 85 kW model accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.9 seconds and offers one of the longer ranges in the entry-level segment.

Market position
Reaching 200,000 units in production highlights the modelβs growing presence in the domestic EV market. With its pricing, available features, and configuration choices, the Xingyuan offers an alternative to the BYD Seagull for consumers seeking a low-cost electric vehicle with a broader set of options.
