Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle brand under the Geely Holding Group umbrella, has officially released the first set of images for its upcoming flagship model, the Zeekr 9X. The vehicle, positioned as a full-size luxury SUV, introduces a new design language for the brand and is slated for its public premiere at the upcoming Auto Shanghai 2025.

Emphasising all-around comfort and luxury, the Zeekr 9X adopts a commanding presence with its squared-off, robust lines and full-size proportions. The company describes it as embodying a βmajestic without being intimidatingβ style. The front fascia features a large grille with prominent vertical chrome bars, echoing the family design established by the Zeekr 009 MPV, aiming for a luxurious and restrained look.

The side profile is characterised by straight, clean lines contributing to a substantial yet straightforward appearance. At the rear, the 9X is equipped with a distinctive βRing Screen Star Diamondβ through-type taillight assembly. Zeekr claims this intricate unit contains 43,343 individual diamond-cut facets, designed to be highly recognisable when illuminated. The taillight clusters are named the βSide Wing Star Diamond Matrix,β intended to complement the front-end design.

Beyond aesthetics, the Zeekr 9X is set to showcase significant technological advancements. It will be the first model to feature the G-Pilot intelligent driving solution. This system is built upon Zeekrβs Level 3 autonomous driving architecture and utilises the ZEEA 3.0 central computing digital architecture, which reportedly improves end-to-end communication response speed by 50%. For perception, the 9X will employ an advanced sensor suite consisting of five LiDAR units β one long-range LiDAR and four supplementary short-range LiDARs for blind-spot coverage β enabling what Zeekr describes as βfour layers of 360-degree perception capabilities.β

The 9X will also introduce Zeekrβs βSuper Electric Hybridβ technology. This powertrain system aims to merge the respective advantages of pure electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and range-extender (EREV) technologies, promising disruptive innovation in performance, efficiency, and overall driving experience. Zeekr has officially stated that the 9X can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in the 3-second range, indicating potent performance credentials.

Market positioning places the 9X firmly in the flagship luxury SUV segment. While official pricing will be confirmed later, initial estimates suggest a starting price point around 500,000 yuan (68,000 USD). A potential high-end βGrand Editionβ is speculated to approach the 1 million yuan (136,000 USD) mark.
The Zeekr 9X will make its official public debut at Auto Shanghai 2025, which opens on April 23rd at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre. Zeekrβs booth will be located in Hall 6.1.
