Although Fordโs all-electric F-150 Lightning is more than double the cost of a Maverick, lease prices are now nearly the same. You can lease a Ford F-150 Lightning for just $1 more a month than the entry-level Maverick.
Ford launched the F-150 Lightning, its first 100% electric pickup, in April 2022. The Lightning is a full-size EV pickup with up to 580 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque.
Ford calls the Lightning the โsmartest, most innovativeโ F-150 ever built. After almost 50 years, Ford revived the Maverick name in 2021, a compact car sold in the โ70s, as its smallest pickup.
The Ford Maverick was launched as a smaller, more affordable alternative to the big trucks on the market.
However, with massive new incentives this month, you can lease a full-size Lightning electric pickup for just $1 more per month than the Maverick in select markets.
Fordโs 2024 Maverick XL starts at $28,015. According to online auto research firm CarsDirect, Maverick lease prices are estimated at $368 per month for 36 months in NY. With $2,989 due at signing, the effect cost totals $451 per month.
Why lease a Maverick when the Lightning is just $1 more
With $0 down, the 2023 F-150 Lightning Standard Range model is offered at just $452 per month, just $1 more than the Maverick. And thatโs with the Lightningโs more than double starting price of $56,900.
Although itโs a 2023 model, at nearly the same monthly rate as the Maverick, the deal is hard to pass up. Ford is cutting the Lightningโs lease price with a $9,500 rebate factored in.
Ford introduced new lease incentives this week for the Lightning and Mustang Mach-E electric models. The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is now available for 0% APR for 72 months.
If youโre looking for a newer Lightning, all 2024 models are now available with 0% for 60 months. Fordโs Mustang Mach-E (2023 and 2024 models) are available with a new 24-month lease and $7,500 in Red Carpet Lease Cash.
If you finance through Ford Motor Credit Company, you can also defer payments for 90 days.
