Xiaomi has officially announced that its highly anticipatedΒ YU7 SUVΒ will begin static displays inΒ 13 Beijing stores starting May 29, followed by a nationwide expansion toΒ 92 cities across China in June. The company clarified that these showcases will beΒ closed-door, meaning visitors cannot enter the vehicle, as some features remain undisclosed to ensure a βmore complete product experienceβ upon its official launch.

In addition to the YU7 showcases, Xiaomi confirmed its participation in theΒ 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Auto Show, which will run fromΒ May 31 to June 8Β at theΒ Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Centre. The automaker will occupyΒ Booth 06 in Hall 6, where its full lineup, including theΒ SU7 sedan, SU7 Ultra, and YU7 SUV, will be displayed.

Positioned as aΒ premium large SUV, the YU7 measuresΒ 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,608 mm in height, with aΒ 3,000 mm wheelbase. Buyers will choose nine exterior colours, includingΒ Jewel Green, Titanium Metal, and Lava Orange.

Under the hood, the YU7 is powered by Xiaomiβs proprietaryΒ V6s Plus super e-motor, incorporatingΒ segmented magnet technologyΒ to enhance efficiency and performance. All three variantsβStandard, Pro, and Maxβfeature this motor, though output varies by trim.

TheΒ Standard RWD modelΒ accelerates fromΒ 0-100 km/h in 5.88 seconds, with aΒ 235 kW peak power outputΒ and aΒ 96.3 kWh LFP batteryΒ delivering up toΒ 835 km CLTC range. TheΒ Pro AWD versionΒ cuts the 0-100 km/h time toΒ 4.27 secondsΒ but reduces the range slightly toΒ 770 kmΒ due to its dual-motor setup.

TheΒ Max AWD performance variant is topping the range, which boasts a blisteringΒ 3.23-second 0-100 km/h sprint,Β 508 kW peak power, and a largerΒ 101.7 kWh NMC batteryΒ forΒ 760 km of range.

Inside, the YU7 features a futuristicΒ βHypervisionβ panoramic displayΒ and aΒ 6.68-inch rear control screen. It also comes withΒ Nvidia Thor chip-powered ADASΒ andΒ LiDAR as standard.

With the YU7 set to launch in July, Xiaomi is positioning itself as a serious contender in Chinaβs crowded electric SUV market, targeting rivals like Teslaβs Model Y and Nioβs ES6. The company has kept the interior details under wraps, highlighting potential surprises tied to HyperOS or autonomous features. Unveiled on May 22, the YU7βs pricing and pre-orders remain unannounced, with CEO Lei Jun dismissing rumours of a 199,000 yuan (27,500 USD) starting price and dropping YU7 hints of possible pricing.
