Xpegn G7 launched in China tonight with provocative pricing under 200,000 yuan. The mid-size SUV offers a range of up to 702 km with a 218 kW motor and in-house developed Turing AI chip providing 2,250 TOPS.
Moments after its launch, Xpeng announced that the G7 had received 10,000 orders, with a deposit of 5,000 yuan (700 USD). The current price undercuts the initial 235,800 yuan starting point announced when G7 pre-sales kicked off on June 11.
The G7 is positioned between the G6 compact crossover and the G9 large SUV. Interestingly, it has no AWD or dual-motor version, but offers only one powertrain option: a 218 kW rear-wheel drive (RWD), capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.

However, there are two battery options: 68.5 kWh, which is suitable for a 602 km CLTC range, and 80.8 kWh, which is good for a 702 km CLTC range. Both variants feature an 800V charging platform, and the battery supports a maximum charging rate of 5C.
The Xpeng G7 features two Nvidia Drive Orin chips with 508 TOPS (trillion operations per second), but the top trim version is equipped with three Xpeng’s in-house developed Turing AI chips, boasting 2,250 TOPS. Two are used for assisted driving, and one for powering the cockpit. For comparison, the Xiaomi YU7 have an ADAS chip from Nvidia with 700 TOPS, and the Tesla Model Y has an ADAS chip with 720 TOPS.
Xpeng sells three trims of the G7:
- 602 Max: 68.5 kWh, 602 km, 195,800 yuan
- 702 Max: 80.8 kWh, 702 km, 205,800 yuan
- Ultra: 80.8 kWh, 702 km, 2,250 TOPS, 225,800 yuan
The Xpeng G7 is a 5-door 5-seater with dimensions of 4892/1925/1655 mm (length/width/height). Its wheelbase reaches 2,890 mm.
The G7 features an 87-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD), developed by Huawei, which replaces a conventional instrument panel. It supports AR navigation, intersection guidance, dynamic lane change prompts, and other functions.

Xpeng G7 undercuts the entry-level variant of Model Y RWD by 67,700 yuan (9,500 USD) and Xiaomi YU7 by 57,700 yuan (8,050 USD).
The Xiaomi YU7 was launched on June 27 and received 200,000 firm orders in just three minutes, selling out for a year, as the waiting time for certain trims is up to 60 weeks.
Xpeng delivered 34,611 cars in June, representing a 224% year-over-year increase. In the first half of 2025, it delivered 197,189 vehicles globally, representing a 279% increase from the same period last year and accounting for over 50% of its annual sales target.
