Zeekr 7X interior teased ahead of August 30 unveiling

The Zeekr 7X will debut at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 30, and the SUV is expected to be released at the end of September. In the lead up to its unveiling, Zeekr has released some teaser images of the interior, which show five key details. These consist of central control buttons, a yacht-style mid-platform design, floating ripple ambient lighting, the speaker design, and perforated seats.

From the teaser shots, we can see that the new car will have a large size floating central infotainment screen, which at the bottom has piano-like mechanical buttons. These are likely to control media and AC, helping improve convenience for the driver. Also visible are the dual wireless mobile phone charging pads. Chinese media describe the area behind the charging pads as being yacht-like. We can also notice from the pictures that there appear to be some more controls where the drive selector would usually be placed. However, based on previous spy shots, this may simply be the handle for opening what appears to be a refrigerator. Judging from what looks like a side-placed button on the cubbyhole, we can guess that this will be openable from either side. One of the images shows a speaker with Zeekr Sound emblazoned on it, and this is most likely one on top of the dashboard. Chinese media are claiming that this has a sunflower pattern. Not only are the seats perforated but the perforations appear to form a pattern.

The Zeekr 7X adopts the hidden energy design language, and the styling reflects other members of the Zeekr range. Notable features include the Zeekr Stargate all-in-one Smart Light Curtain at the front and a clamshell-type closing of the rear hatch, which largely erases the seam between the tailgate and the fender. The rear also features a through taillight and a cascade design with the roof-mounted spoiler and then a lip on the tailgate after the window line. From the wheel arch, a crease smoothly flows into the lip line.

With dimensions (see specs of Zeekr 7X) of 4825, 1930, and 1666 mm (l/w/h) and a wheelbase of 2925 mm, the all-electric SUV is well into mid-size territory. Single and dual motor versions will be available, with all cars using a 310 kW electric motor on the rear axle. All-wheel drive versions add a 165 kW electric motor to the front, and this version has a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of three seconds.

Buyers of the single-motor version can choose between 75 and 100 kWh battery packs. The 75 kWh battery pack is the Zeekr-developed golden brick battery from Geely‘s subsidiary, VREMT. Presumably, this will be the second generation version of the lithium iron phosphate battery that recently debuted in the 2025 model year Zeekr 007, where Geely claims to have produced the world’s fastest charging production EV. The 100 kWh pack on the other hand uses a Qilin ternary lithium battery sourced from CATL and in the single motor version this gives a WLTC range of 705 km, the dual-motor version is only available with the 100 kWh battery pack.

Already, the Zeekr 7X has been spotted testing overseas. Given that the Zeekr brand is rapidly expanding into international markets, it is highly likely that the 7X will be exported. However, given the similarity of the name to BMW’s X7, it may well need to be renamed for export. Prices at launch for the Chinese market are expected to be in the  240,000 to 350,000 yuan (33,000 – 48,200 USD) range.
