On November 9, Huawei announced that HIMAβs new Luxeed S7 exhibition cars have arrived at more than 300 stores across 83 Chinese cities. Pre-sale is expected to open on November 10, according to HIMA sales personnel. The new car adds a variety of exterior paints and 19/20-inch color-matching rims; and is equipped with HuaweiβsΒ DriveONEΒ 800VΒ high-voltageΒ silicon carbide power platform and the ADS 3.0 basic or advanced intelligent driving versions.
For reference, the current price range of the Luxeed S7 (see spec here) on sale is 249,800 β 349,800 yuan (34,800 β 48,700 USD). In October, the Luxeed S7 only sold 2,522 units. So far, the sales performance has been lukewarm. In December last year, only 784 units were sold, and in January and February this year, only 604 and 794 units were sold, respectively.
The new Luxeed S7 offers four exterior paints: red, purple, blue, and light blue. In contrast, the existing models offer five colors: white, silver, black, beige, and blue. The length, width, and height of the Luxeed S7 currently on sale are 4971/1963/1474 or 1472/1466/1460 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2950 mm. The dimensions are expected to remain unchanged.
The exterior of the new Luxeed S7 continues the design of the current model, with a closed front face and slender headlights, hidden door handles, and through-type taillights. Some models shown in the official images continue to be equipped with a roof lidar.
Inside, the cockpit is equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel, an instrument panel, a floating central control screen, and a layered center console that comes with wireless charging for mobile phones, cupholders, and additional storage space in the lower section. The operating system is supported by Huaweiβs HarmonyOS 4.
The new Luxeed S7 is also expected to continue to be powered by Huaweiβs DriveONE 800V silicon carbide high-voltage power platform. The total power of the front AC asynchronous motor and rear permanent magnet synchronous motor for the AWD trim is 365 kW (489 hp). The 0 β 100 km/h acceleration is 3.3 seconds. The single-motor trim has a maximum power of 215 kW (288 hp), and a 0 β 100 km/h acceleration time of 5.4 seconds, and a cruising range of 855 km (with a 100 kWh ternary lithium battery pack). At this time, the powertrain parameters have not been revealed officially, the final specs are subject to official announcements.
