The new Luxeed S7 electric sedan from Chery and Huawei became up to 4,100 USD cheaper in China to boost sales. The price range of this model is 229,800 β 319,800 yuan (31,700 β 44,100 USD). The Luxeed S7 (see specs) will start deliveries. The Luxeed S7 is a 5-meter sedan with up to 489 hp and 855 km of range.
Luxeed is a joint project between Chery and Huawei launched in 2023. In this project, Chery is responsible for the development and manufacturing while Huawei is a key parts and software supplier. At the same time, Huawei takes care of the Luxeed S7βs domestic sales using its own car sales network HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance). Β
The Luxeed S7 started sales in China in November 2023 with a starting price of 249,800 yuan (34,450 USD). However, Chery failed to satisfy the customersβ demand for this model, resulting in delivery delays. The company even introduced a cash subsidy for customers. This launch was a failure, as Luxeed S7 sold 2,297 units from November 2023 to February 2024.
In April this year, Chery and Huawei started over, launching the Luxeed S7 for the second time. The price of this model remained the same. However, it received some minor upgrades. From April to October, Luxeed S7βs sales volume reached 24,224 cars. On November 26, Chery and Huawei launched the updated Luxeed S7 with a sliced price to boost the sales volume.

The Luxeed S7 stands on the E0X modular architecture that underpins such cars as Exlantix ET, Exlantix ES, and Luxeed R7. Moreover, the same platform will underpin the first Freelander-branded E0V full-size SUV from the Chery Jaguar Land Rover joint venture.
Back to the Luxeed S7, it is a sedan with a sporty stance and dimensions of 4971/1963/1472 mm. Its wheelbase boasts a length of 2950 mm. The car has a drag coefficient of 0.203 Cd and a large sunroof that blocks up to 98.3% of UV light. The exterior styling of the Luxeed S7 follows the HIMA distinguishing design language. It stays in line with the Aito M9, Stelato S9, and Luxeed R7. It has a LiDAR sensor on the roof. The 4WD variant of the car adopts Brembo brake calipers.
The interior of the Luxeed S7 remained untouched with an oval-shaped three-spoke steering wheel, two wireless phone-charging pads, a large floating screen, and a zero-gravity front passenger screen. The car has four UCB Type-C ports for 66W. Its acoustic system comprises up to 17 Huawei-branded speakers.

The Luxeed S7 is standardly built on the 800V high-voltage platform. It offers four powertrain options.
- RWD, 215 kW (288 hp), 82 kWh battery, 705 km CLTC range
- RWD, 215 kW (288 hp), 100 kWh battery, 855 km CLTC range
- 4WD, 365 kW (489 hp), 100 kWh battery, 785 km CLTC range
The starting price of the updated Luxeed S7 slid by 20,000 yuan (2,750 USD) to 229,800 yuan (31,700 USD). The second trim level kept the original price. The third variant of this sedan became 10,000 yuan (1,380 USD) cheaper. The top-tier Luxeed S7βs price fell by 30,000 yuan (4,100 USD). Its prices are as follows:
