Recently, dealers in China revealed that the fourth-generation Wuling Hongguang Mini EV five-door variant has arrived in the store and is expected to be launched in 2025, with a price tag not exceeding 50,000 yuan (6,900 USD).
It is worth pointing out that the fourth-generation Wuling Hongguang Mini EV will also offer a three-door variant, built based on the Tianyu S platform. In October, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV series sold 42,165 units. Since its official launch in July 2020, the series has been the sales champion of A00-level new energy vehicles for 51 consecutive months, according to the official.
For the exterior, the new Wuling Hongguang Mini EV five-door variant maintains a round shape. The oval headlight group and the concave front face enhance the three-dimensional sense of the vehicle. The fast and slow charging port is located on the front. At the rear, the taillights echo the headlights with a similar shape.
At the same time, the exterior also offers a floating roof design option with a dual-color body. The new car runs on 13-inch petal-shaped rims. With the upgraded body size, the length, width, and height of the new car are 3256/1510/1578 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2190 mm. The length is 192 mm longer than the current version on sale (see specs here), and the wheelbase is 180 mm longer.
The five-door variant is powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 30 kW (40 hp), matched with a 16.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack supplied by either Gotion or Saike Ruipu Power Battery System, providing a CLTC range of 205 km. Its top speed is 100 km/h. For reference, the third-generation model offers 120 km, 170 km, and 215 km CLTC range options.
Inside, the fourth-generation Wuling Hongguang Mini EV continues to adopt the 8-inch suspended center control screen and 7-inch full LCD instrument panel as well as the double-spoke steering wheel, paired with new round air-conditioning outlets and control knobs. New functions such as automatic parking and independent control buttons for front and rear windows are added. Additionally, other configurations include remote control, keyless entry and start, dual speakers, and fabric seats.
