BYD’s FCB Titanium 3 EV revealed under new hard-core home series

On December 10, BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) brand announced its new hard-core series called “Titanium” (or “Tai” in Chinese) focusing on family-oriented consumers. The series’ first product, the Titanium 3 electric SUV, equipped with an AWD system and an optional roof drone cabin, was declared by the Chinese MIIT yesterday. The Titanium 3 will be launched in the first half of next year and may be priced around 200,000 yuan (27,600 USD).

In fact, on November 12, at the launch conference of the FCB Bao 8, FCB General Manager Xiong Tianbo said that among the users of the FCB Bao 5, family users accounted for 70%. FCB has been intending to expand into the home market and has constantly mentioned the concept of home use in its communications. The new series is named after a physical and chemical element widely used in human life, titanium, which has the characteristics of ultra-high ductility and plasticity, according to the brand.

The appearance of the Titanium 3 continues the design style of the Super 3 concept car and uses an unibody construction. The length, width, and height of the standard trim of the Titanium 3 are 4605/1900/1720 mm, with a wheelbase of 2745 mm. Both trims adopt pure electric AWD. The front AC asynchronous motor (model YS230XYC) has a maximum power of 110 kW (148 hp) and the rear permanent magnet synchronous motor (model TZ200XYZ) has a maximum power of 200 kW (268 hp). The top speed is 201 km/h. The battery comes from the BYD Blade battery pack.

Furthermore, the standard trim is equipped with a panoramic sunroof as standard and optional configurations such as rear window non-privacy glass, cameras located throughout the vehicle, front bumper trim color, brake calipers colors, and rim designs. The optional roof drone cabin trim is equipped with an unmanned cabin as standard and similar optional configurations.
