Zeekr 7 GT to launch in Europe in second quarter of 2025 with 5.5C battery

Just days ago, official pictures of the Zeekr 007 GT wagon emerged, and at the time, it was communicated that the car would launch in Q2. It now seems that not only will the car launch in China during Q2 but also in Europe where the model will be known as the Zeekr 7 GT.

The Zeekr brand is already on sale in several European countries, including the Netherlands, Noway, and Sweden. Although wagons are not as popular in Europe as they once were, their popularity still outstrips that in China, where they are a relative rarity.

So far, the MG 5, which is the re-badged version of the Roewe Ei5 for the European market, has done relatively well thanks to being a wagon. Buyers interested in EV wagons in Europe currently have few alternative choices.

The 2025 version of the Zeekr 007 sedan launched in August last year and the wagon should have very similar capabilities and specifications.

The 2025 model year version introduced the second generation golden battery, which is also known as the Golden Brick battery. Although it is a lithium iron phosphate battery, it has a 5.5C charging capability.

Zeekr claims that the self-developed Golden Brick Battery is the world’s fastest-charging mass-produced battery. It allows a 10% to 80% SoC charge in 10.5 minutes.

The Zeekr 007 sedan version (see specs) comes equipped with a 75 kWh pack, which will almost certainly be extended to the wagon, which should also be capable of a similar range to the 688 km (CLTC) claimed by the single-motor version sedan.

The Zeekr 007 GT will also likely be offered with the 100 kWh CATL Qilin battery. In the single-motor version of the sedan, this provides a range of up to 870 km. It should be noted that all versions of the Zeekr 007 use 800V architecture.

Powertrain options are likely to be the same for the wagon as with the sedan. All versions use a rear-mounted 310 kW electric motor, which has a peak torque of 440 Nm. This gives the Golden Brick battery version an acceleration time of 5.1 seconds, while the Qilin version achieves 0-100 km/h in a slightly quicker five seconds.

Dual motor versions add a 165KW electric motor to the front axle, which can provide a peak torque of 270 Nm. It boosts acceleration time to 3.6 seconds, and in the performance version, this is reduced further to 2.84 seconds.

The sedan version has dimensions of 4865, 1900, and 1450 mm, along with a wheelbase of 2928 mm. Wagon versions of the 007 are unlikely to differ much from these.

Inside the cockpit, the Zeekr 007 features a 15-inch OLED center screen, a 35.5-inch AR-HUD system, and an LCD instrument panel. Other features include a 21-speaker premium audio system, an AI fragrance system, and a panoramic roof.

As part of the 2025 model year upgrade, the Zeekr 007 received the Haohan intelligent driving 2.0 system, which boosts the car’s self-driving ability. The car has over 30 sensors, including Lidar, and the system works on a Lidar plus visual fusion basis. By the time the wagon launches in 2025, the system will have a door-to-door capability. Two Nvidia Orin X Chips provide 508 TOPS computing power, enabling the smart driving system.

Prices of the sedan in China range from 209,900 yuan (28,900 USD) up to 299,900 yuan (41,250 USD). The 007 GT may have a slight premium to these prices. As yet, there is no news on European prices, but starting prices of just above 50,000 EUR (52,000 USD) are likely.
