Leapmotor B10 crossover arrives April 10, Spanish factory to produce European models

Leapmotor‘s highly anticipated B10 electric vehicle will officially launch on April 10, with large-scale deliveries commencing simultaneously. The B10 lineup will feature five variants priced between 109,800 and 139,800 yuan (15,200-19,400 USD) in its home market.

The B10 aims to set new benchmarks in the compact crossover segment with what Leapmotor describes as “class-exclusive” features. These include an available LiDAR system(the first vehicle with a LiDAR sensor under the 120,000 yuan) and an advanced 8650 chip for intelligent driving capabilities. This technology enables highway and urban autonomous navigation assistance, while the smart cabin is powered by an 8295 chip with cloud-based large language model integration for voice assistant functionality.

Leapmotor partnered with Stellantis’ Maserati team in a notable collaboration to fine-tune the B10’s chassis dynamics. The interior features a customizable co-pilot space with modular expansion ports that allow users to attach accessories like folding table trays and phone mounts according to their needs.

Available in two range options—510km and 600km versions—the B10 delivers impressive performance with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6.8 seconds. Charging capabilities are equally impressive, with battery levels increasing from 30% to 80% in just 19 minutes.

Recent developments regarding the model’s production plans have underscored its international significance. According to the Chinese embassy in Spain, Stellantis and Leapmotor are planning a $200 million USD investment in a factory in Zaragoza, northeastern Spain, to produce the B10 for European markets beginning in 2026.

This investment decision comes after the companies evaluated several potential European manufacturing locations, including sites in Germany and Slovakia. The Spanish location was reportedly chosen as the top site for B10 production, with both companies now working to increase component procurement from Spanish suppliers to qualify for maximum government subsidies.

Spain’s relatively low labor costs and generous clean energy incentives have attracted battery manufacturers like CATL and Envision Group-backed AESC, creating a favorable ecosystem for EV production.

The B10 represents the first model in Leapmotor’s B series, specifically designed for international markets. Stellantis is positioning it as a way to bring “high-tech, affordable EVs” to consumers outside China. The company plans to begin mass production of the vehicle in Spain during the first quarter of 2026, marking a significant milestone in Chinese automotive expansion into European manufacturing.
