Xpeng has announced a significant achievement for its budget-friendly Mona M03 electric sedan, with the 100,000th vehicle rolling off the production line just 216 days after its market launch—setting a new production speed record among Chinese EV startups.

The milestone, announced on March 31, 2025, highlights the market success of the Model 3-inspired sedan that debuted on August 27, 2024. Priced between 119,800 and 155,800 yuan (16,800-21,850 USD), the vehicle generated over 10,000 firm orders within just 52 minutes of its launch event in Beijing.

The Mona M03 features a minimalist Tesla-like interior centered around a 15.6-inch infotainment screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip with 16GB of RAM. Unlike Tesla, however, Xpeng offers numerous customization options, including a pluggable instrument panel, fragrance dispenser, memory foam supports, and various interior color schemes.

With dimensions slightly larger than the Model 3 (4780/1896/1445mm and a 2815mm wheelbase), the M03 boasts impressive practicality. Its 621-liter trunk expands to 1602 liters with the seats folded. The vehicle’s aerodynamic design achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.194, contributing to its efficiency.

Power options include 140 kW and 160 kW front-wheel-drive motors paired with BYD’s FinDreams lithium iron phosphate batteries. The entry-level 51.8 kWh battery provides a range of 515 km, while the larger 62.2 kWh pack offers up to 620km, depending on the version.

All models have substantial driver assistance hardware, including 2 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 7 cameras delivering L2 autonomous driving capabilities. The top-tier Max version, which began deliveries after the Chinese New Year 2025, features enhanced intelligent driving capabilities that Xpeng claims are unmatched in vehicles priced under 200,000 yuan (28,000 USD).

The production milestone reinforces Xpeng’s growing momentum in China’s competitive EV market. The company has positioned the Mona M03 as a value-focused alternative to domestic rivals and Tesla’s Model 3.
