Months after surviving a dramatic cliff plunge, a driver purchased a new Xiaomi vehicle, signalling strong confidence in the brand following the harrowing incident. The original accident, which involved the owner and his family, ended with surprisingly minimal injuries, thanks in part to the vehicle’s performance under extreme stress.
Recounting the previous accident, the owner’s wife, Wang Yu, described the terrifying moments. Her husband was driving while she was seated in the back, wearing her seatbelt and holding their 2.5-year-old daughter in her lap. When the car went off the cliff, the force of the impact caused the child to fly from her arms. Miraculously, the toddler was reportedly caught by the deploying front airbags and sustained only a minor cut on her forehead, escaping serious harm. Ms. Wang stated that following this near-tragedy, the family resolved to always use a proper child safety seat in the future.
An examination of the vehicle after the crash revealed impressive structural resilience. Reports indicate the car’s frame remained largely intact despite the severe fall. Notably, the A-pillar showed little sign of deformation, a critical factor in maintaining cabin integrity during rollovers or severe impacts. Furthermore, the driver’s side door could still be opened normally post-accident, and even the rear door’s window mechanism remained operational, allowing the glass to be lowered.
While the family’s survival involved elements of luck, particularly regarding the child, the vehicle’s ability to withstand such a significant impact and maintain the integrity of the passenger compartment played a crucial role. The owner’s subsequent decision to purchase another Xiaomi serves as a powerful, albeit anecdotal, testament to the positive impression left by the car’s safety performance during the life-threatening event.
